The password was apparently incorrect but I believe that the approximate locations of the hackers must be near the college. Interestingly, one of the domains they attempted to connect to belongs to the National Chung Hsing University Student Government in Taiwan. It wasn't just them buying stuff either - they attempted to connect to Chinese servers through FTP and SFTP on FileZilla (which was also logged). I remember there were some people talking about TV's DNS being changed in a hijack but to be honest I didn't have any records of that so I couldn't investigate into that aspect of the incident. These attackers had this planned out and must have owned TV's infrastructure for a long time - they used shell and shipping redirect companies (which according to the business documents collected from the state were owned by Chinese people) which take time to setup. This was 100% the fault of TV's weak internal security which allowed malicious attackers to bypass secure passwords and 2FA. I even ruled out BackDoor.TeamViewer.49 after digging through nearly every single folder in my filesystem to determine that it wasn't from that particular exploit. They also must have clicked into Teamviewer while operating on their machine because there is Chinese in the clipboard log as well: I even sent them a copy of my clipboard logs, which shows the attackers copied and pasted eBay urls from their machine to mine, as well as addresses.
